அருள்மிகு அகோர வீரபத்திரர் திருக்கோயில், அனுமந்தபுரம் சென்னையில் இருந்து செங்கல்பட்டு செல்லும் வழியில் சிங்கப்பெருமாள் கோவிலுக்கு கிழக்கில் சுமார் பத்து கிலோமீட்டர் தொலைவில் உள்ளது அனுமந்தபுரம் என்னும் சிறிய கிராமம். சிவபெருமானின் மூத்த புதல்வர் வீரபத்திரரர் சாமி கோவில் இங்கு உள்ளது. தக்கன் நடத்திய வேள்வியை அழிக்கவும் அவனுக்கு துணையாக இருந்த விஷ்ணு,பிரம்மன்,இந்திரன் முதலான தேவர்களைகைக் கொன்று துவசம் செய்யவும் சிவபெருமானால் படைக்கப் பட்டவர் வீரபத்திரர். தக்கன் வேள்வியை அழித்து தேவாதி தேவர்களைக் கொன்று குவித்த வீரபத்திரர் அகோர வடிவமானார்.அவர் சாந்தி கொள்ளும் பொருட்டு இந்த அழகிய கிராமத்தில் வந்து தங்கி பக்தர்களுக்கு அருள் பாலிக்கிறார் என்பது நம்பிக்கை. உடல்நலம், மனநலம்பாதிக்கப் பட்டவர்களும்,பில்லி சூனியம் மற்றும் ஏவல்களினால் அவதிப் படுபவர்களும் இங்கு பௌர்ணமி நாட்களில் வந்து தங்கி குணம் அடைகிறார்கள் என்பது இந்த ஊரின் சிறப்பு. இங்கு காளி அம்மன் கோவில், மொண்டி மாறி அம்மன் கோவில் மற்றும் எல்லையம்மன் கோவில் ஆகியவைகளும் உள்ளன.

anumanthapuram Anumanthapuram is a small and beautiful village near chengalpattu. It is situated at a distance of 9 km from singaperumalkoil towards east. This village is famous for the rural deity Akora veerabathrar swamy temple And kaliamman temple. Besides these temples, there are small temples like mondi mariamman temple and ellai amman temple are there. This village attracts hundreds of devotees on every fullmoon day. People stay at the temple premises during the night and for getting the blessings from the deities to get rid of their physical as well as mental problems. Mahasivaraththiri,karthigai deepam,chitra pournamy get festive look and people celebrate palkudam and fire walking with more enthusiastically. These temples are famous for the rituals and practices like Sami attam,pei attam,alaku kuththuthal,arulvakku(oracle),kuri solluthal,pilli sooniam,thirushti kazhiththal etc. I have visited about 15 times to this village and observe what is happening in and around the temple premises and took photos and videos.
